Self Employed Roof Cleaning Jobs Available Spring From Early 2024. Must Possess Roofing Experience & Knowledge, Be Reliable & Ready To Go.
Roof cleaning jobs are difficult to come by, and that’s because the role requires a unique blend of roofing skill and hard work. Therefore our domestic roof moss removal jobs are only for reliable tradesman who can hit the ground running from day 1. You must:
- Have your own tools
- Have your own van
- Know how to navigate a roof
- Be comfortable with soft washing roofs
- Work with an organise your own labourer
- Provide your own PL insurance
We are looking for roofers who can travel to roof cleans each day. Opportunities are available across England, Wales & Scotland. Pay for a normal day is £300 total. This is the price for you, your labourer and your costs. If there is pre agreed work that requires a longer drive or overnight stay, we have higher day rates of up to £400+. Most terraced and semi detached houses will be booked for 1 day. Detached houses are normally 2 days, although larger properties can be 3 or 4 days. There is more variability with bungalows but most are 1 or 2 days.
If you are in Scotland, south west England, the South East, we’d be particularly interested in hearing from you. The midlands and north west are our strongest areas. There are also opportunities in Northern Ireland although we have never focused our marketing on these areas.

Our Standard Soft Wash Process
1) Customers roof is liberated from damaging and unsightly moss using a soft wash methodology.
2) Their gutters are cleared from pre-existing and roof cleaning debris. This will stop them from needing to pay for a gutter clean anytime soon.
3) The roof is treated with biocide or sodium alternative to prevent immediate regrowth of moss and other organic matter. Roofs are made to be breathable, so the treatment is not a panacea as other contractors may tell you. All treatments are approximately 2 – 3 years if applied correctly (at the very least).
4) You prepare to leave, cleaning any mess and taking green waste with you. Should the customer want to keep the moss, we can bag and place it in any compost bin that they may have.
